A Single Award – Tailored For You

In order to simplify the financial aid process, Graceland awards a single primary institutional scholarship that considers your financial need, academic accomplishments, athletic success, and your involvement in extra-curricular activities such as art, music, theatre, communications, social change, and sustainability. Your Graceland scholarship will be tailored to your strengths and interests.

Academics Academic focused scholarships are awarded for students who have demonstrated their success in the classroom. These awards vary based on cumulative GPA and can increase based on optional ACT/SAT scores.
Athletics Athletic focused scholarships require the recipient to actively participate in their chosen sport as a part of the varsity or junior varsity team as a player, coach or manager.
Advocacy For students with a background in student government, volunteering or community service, this scholarship focus is intended for students majoring in Social Change or Sustainability. As part of this reward, students will design their own community engagement project each year.
Communications For students with a background and/or interest in yearbook, newspaper, radio or social media. Recipients of this scholarship focus will have the chance to work with one of Graceland’s integrated media advisors and will be expected to participate in their chosen media field.
Performing Arts These scholarships require the recipient to actively participate in art, music, or theatre. To be considered, an audition and/or portfolio review is required.

Competitive Scholarships

In addition to The Graceland Award, you may also be able to compete for a limited number of additional scholarships. In most cases, your total financial aid package will not exceed the cost of tuition.

The following competitive scholarships are based on a combination of GPA, essay, references, high school activities, and community service. You may apply for as many competitive scholarships as you feel you may qualify.

  • Prestigious Honors Scholarship

    Full tuition award and is renewable for up to four years.

    • Available to entering first year or transfer students
    • Minimum GPA 3.75
    • Minimum ACT/SAT composite score: ACT: 27, SAT: 1280 (in lieu of test scores, the applicant may instead answer one of two 250 word Alternative to Testing questions on the Honors Application)
    • Attend Prestigious Honors Day
    • Participate in the Honors Program
    • Remain in good standing

    Candidates meeting the evaluation criteria will be invited to campus for an interview on Academic Honors Day.

    If you wish to be considered for the Prestigious Honors Scholarship, you must apply to the Honors Program at least one week prior to the Prestigious Honors Day in which you will compete for the award.

    NOTE: Recipients of this award will not receive any other Graceland scholarship.

  • Resch Scholar Scholarship

    Full tuition ward and is renewable for up to four years.

    • New enrolling full-time student on the Lamoni campus for Fall 2024 (transfers welcome).
    • Declared major in Biology, Chemistry, Data Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, or Allied Health (any concentration)
    • Hold a 3.5 GPA (for full tuition) or 3.0 GPA (partial tuition). Preference will be given to higher GPA.
    • Completed FAFSA received by May 1, 2024 (Domestic U.S. students only).
    • Willing to participate in departmental and Resch Scholar program activities.

    NOTE: Recipients of a full-tuition award will not receive any other Graceland scholarship.

  • Ackerley Computer Science and Technology Scholarship

    Award amount varies up to $8,000 and is renewable for up to four years.

    • Minimum high school GPA 3.5 and ACT 26 (math and composite)
    • Enroll full-time and declare CSIT major
    • Willing to participate in all CSIT activities

  • Wildermuth Asian - Technology Endowed Scholarship

    Award amount varies from $500 to $1,000 and is renewable for up to four years.

    • Citizen from an Asian/Pacific Rim country
    • TOEFL score of 500 (paper) or 61 (internet)
    • Grade equivalent of 3.0 GPA in high school
    • Enroll full-time and declare CSIT major
    • Willing to participate in all CSIT activities

    Wildermuth Scholarship Application

  • Honors Scholarship

    $1000 – renewable for up to four years.

    Eligibility:
    Be able to participate for at least 4 semesters in the Honors Program, have a minimum high school or college cumulative GPA of 3.50, demonstrate outstanding writing skills, and score a 25 or higher on the ACT (1200 or higher on the SAT). In lieu of test scores, the applicant may also answer one of two 250 word Alternative to Testing questions on the honors application. (Not available for Prestigious Honors Scholarship recipients).

    Application Procedure:

    1. Entering first year or transfer students must submit a Graceland Application for Admission.
    2. Have your high school, college or university send your official transcript.
    3. Submit ACT/SAT scores if available (optional).
    4. Complete the Honors Program application
    5. May be required to file FAFSA annually (U.S. Citizens).

  • Alumni Endowed Scholarship

    Award amount varies.

    • Be a direct descendant of Graceland alumni
    • Apply for admission to Graceland or be a current student
    • Submit application on or before March 1
    • Live in a residence hall on campus, unless residing with parents or legal guardian, are married or are living in the Kansas City area while enrolled in the clinical nursing program
