Three fresh School of Nursing graduates have been nominated for a DAISY Award
When they celebrated Fall commencement and headed into the Holidays with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing diploma in hand, three graduates were already formally recognized for making a difference in patients’ lives: Abigail Allison, Lindsey Davis and Derrick Thomas are DAISY Award nominees.
The award was established by the DAISY Foundation to honor the extraordinary compassion and healthcare that registered nurses, nursing instructors and students provide. Nominations are submitted in clinical and academic settings by patients and family members, colleagues or classmates, preceptors, faculty or alumni. From the nominations, a committee then selects lifetime DAISY Honorees.
Each nomination is a meaningful recognition of the recipient and that one difference they’ve made to someone. Elise Hector, PhD, Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, is proud of this first-time triple nomination of Graceland University students. „It’s an amazing representation of our students in this graduating class,“ she says.
Double congrats, grads! The DAISY nominees Lindsey Davis, Derrick Thomas and Abigail Allison.
