On Saturday November 6, the Graceland University Esports team competed in an open tournament in Maryville hosted at Northwest Missouri. Assisted by head of player development Jared Connell, five Graceland students competed individually in a tournament environment representing our Esports program. Out of 50+ participants, Graceland Esports team member freshman Isaac Elliott earned second place and junior Angel Sierra placed eighth. Junior Jon Aki along with sophomores Jack Main and Corwin Shipps also competed in the tournament and represented Graceland proudly.
Esports is the world of competitive, organized video gaming and tournament formats vary depending on the organizers, games, and number of teams involved. Competitors from all different leagues come together to face off in the same games that are popular with at-home gamers.
