Karen Gergely and Graceland studio art alum, Tacy Cummings ‘20, were commissioned by the New Virginia Hometown Pride committee to create an 88’ long by 44’ tall mural in downtown New Virginia, Iowa.
The mural was completed in summer 2021 and it explores the past, present, and future of the town. The project was developed in concert with the community and Graceland faculty, alumni, and friends assisted in the painting process. https://www.osceolaiowa.com/news/local/2021/05/19/new-virginia-wall-gets-a-new-look/ www.karengergely.com/murals
