Continuing in the tradition of athletic excellence, Graceland University Director of Athletics Joe Worlund and Vice President of Enrollment Management Scott Briell are pleased to announce Marc Kolb as Graceland’s new head football coach. Kolb brings a wealth of winning experience to Graceland’s program with 22 seasons as a successful college coach.
“The foundation of my success is a belief in the expectation of success and the opportunity for greatness,” explained Kolb. “I openly talk about success, greatness and the standard by which we are all measured. In order to be successful, everybody must first know what the standard is.”
Kolb graduated from Brown University with a degree in sociology and most recently comes to Lamoni from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, where he was the NCAA Division II Offensive Coordinator. Kolb improved their scoring by more than 60 percent during his tenure. His accolades include work as an associate and assistant head coach for 11 seasons and the coordination of offenses that set 23 NCAA records.
“The competition was stiff, and the selection committee needs to be commended for their diligent work,” said Briell. “Marc Kolb brings impressive accomplishments to Graceland, and we look forward to what he can do with our football team. He is an experienced recruiter and will be a great mentor for Graceland students as well.”
The Graceland community welcomes Kolb, who will move to Lamoni with his wife, Lisa, and three children, Matthew, Hannah and William.
