Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Health Nicole Ortiz attended the United States Marine Corps Coaches Workshop May 9-13, 2023 in Quantico, Va.
The workshop is used to give graduated college athletes and students a possible pathway to the military and to create a relationship with various college coaches and professors across the United States. The five day workshop included early morning training, leadership training, riding on an osprey helicopter, gun simulator training, viewing the National Marines Museum, and attending the Marine Barracks Washington parade. All coaches were place in training squads for the week where they worked on various leadership training including LRC training where those who attend boot camp train.
This workshop opened a new relationship with the US Marines and can be used to bring various leadership trainings to sports teams and groups at Graceland University.
