Graceland University Assistant Professor of English Tim Robbins, PhD, recently published a new article, “A “Reconstructed Sociology:” Democratic Vistas and the American Social Science Movement.” The article was published in the Walt Whitman Quarterly Review, the official journal of the Walt Whitman Studies Association. Robbins’ essay explores the connections between the work of 19th-century U.S. poet Walt Whitman and the period’s then-emerging social sciences.
