Melanie teaches classes in Health and Movement Science, such as Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries, Practicum of Clinical Assessment, Community Health, etc.  She teaches these courses because she is passionate about helping students understand the importance of movement and lifestyle choices in long-term health, and how to prevent and manage injuries that may develop as a result of an active lifestyle. Melanie is a certified and licensed athletic trainer for 25+ years and has experience working as an athletic trainer at both the high school and college levels. Mason also served on the Iowa Athletic Trainers’ Society Governmental Affairs Committee.

Melanie believes that staying physically active is key to a happy, healthy life and she loves spending time with family riding motorcycles and hanging out on the beach.
